The Amazing USB

Development of the Universal Serial Bus [USB] began in 1994 and the standards were approved in January 1996.

Since then the USB has grew to the point that new PC’s no longer have serial ports or parallel ports.

The USB  port now allows connection of most external PC devices such as keyboards, mouse, portable disk drives, flash drives, printers, modems, and more.

Most new desktop PC’s now have at least 6 USB ports or more.  Most new laptop pc’s have at least 4 USB ports.  And, if you need more USB ports, it’s real easy to add a USB HUB with at lease 4 USB ports.

Sigh, what has technology wrought?
